Simple gadget that could save you money on energy bills

An expert shared his favourite tip on Ireland AM, which could be a big help this winter.

Colin Baker recommended plugs that come with a timer on, which can switch off your devices that are left on standby overnight.

He said: “Ideally, you’d plug out devices or turn them off at night,” he told the host, Tommy Bowe, “people don’t because it’s inconvenient and it’s a hassle.

“This type of thing just curtails that hassle.

“So you have a remote control, they come in a three pack, you plug these in and you have an off button for all of them.

“You can turn them all off with one click of a button.”

These plugs can be found on Amazon and electrical stores.
