FURIOUS families have blasted supermarkets for ruining Christmas after their turkeys turned “rancid” and “slimey”.
Brits have been left devastated after finding their festive meat in poor condition and inedible.

Customers from supermarkets including Aldi, Sainsbury’s and Asda have all launched complaints ahead of cooking Christmas dinner.
People who bought their turkeys this week were heartbroken to find it in a disgusting state within days of bringing it home.
With the traditional festive bird stamped with use by dates for much longer after December 25, it’s come as a major disappointment for many.
Shoppers have taken to social media to vent their frustrations and having “Christmas ruined”.

One shopper from Asda uploaded a picture of her turkey that was visibly rotten and in no condition to be eaten.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), one user (@bropony19942) wrote to the supermarket’s service team of the horrors she experienced.
“Christmas Day officially ruined purchased this earlier and it’s rotten,” she said.
“It smells absolutely disgusting. It’s shocking how you can sell something that’s rotten and then leave people worried where they are going to get another turkey with limited time left.”

Another shopper named Sarah was also left in panic mode on Christmas Eve after checking her turkey that she’d bought from Sainsbury’s earlier in the week.
She said: “@sainsbury’s Just checked my turkey I brought on the 20th (dated for the 27th!) and it is rancid and slimey!!!!
“Nearly threw up from the smell of it!!! Absolutely disgusting!!!!!!!”
A third person, who bought theirs from Aldi, also couldn’t believe what they were dealing with.
Kate Crossland said: “@AldiUK well thanks just got the fresh Turkey out of the fridge to prep and it’s gone off!! Christmas dinner ruined!!”
A member of Aldi’s social media team did respond to the complaint, saying they were “so sorry to hear this” and assured Kate that they would “assist” with the problem.
The Sun has contacted Asda, Sainsbury’s and Aldi for comment.
Last year, unlucky Morrisons and Sainsbury’s customers also had their Christmas dinner ruined by gross turkeys.

One person even said they had no choice but to settle for beans on toast after uncovering the “off” bird.
Another said they opened their turkey to “slimy skin with yellowing patches” and that is “smells off”.
