CHEEKY shoppers have snapped up thousands of pounds worth of free booze thanks to a glitch on a delivery service app.
The eagle-eyed customers discovered a promo code on Gorillas grocery app would give them £25 free worth of goods without having to order anything.
Christmas came early for the shoppers who then just had to pay the £1.80 delivery fee to get the free items.
Some took full advantage of the 24-hour technical glitch – including one jammy shopper who snapped up £2,000 worth of booze.
A source told The Sun: “People absolutely rinsed it.
“This guy I know had the same delivery man out eight times and he got £2,000 worth of drink.
“Another three or four people I know got £500 to £1,000 worth of alcohol and groceries.
“The company must have lost thousands of pounds!”
An amusing picture revealed to The Sun shows two thrilled customers throwing their Gorillas bags in the air next to a table that is filled with bottles of booze.
The free bounty includes a bottle of Jagermeister, a bottle of Gordon’s gin, three boxes of beer and a bottle of Baileys.
The brazen pair even got themselves a free steak dinner for the night and stocked up on toothpaste.
Another picture shows someone’s bed covered in around 20 bottles of wine, whisky, gin, Sourz Apple, Aperol, amaretto and beer.
The source added: “I was quite keen to get involved, but the promo was only on for one day and I missed it!”
Gorillas is a German on-demand grocery delivery company that promises to deliver groceries within ten minutes of ordering by using dark stores – a large warehouse that can be used for a click-and-collect service.
The business, which goes by the slogan “faster than you”, launched its services in London earlier this year.
Gorillas declined to comment.
