The lot also boasts an original British quad Goldfinger (1964) poster which shows Sean Connery pointing his gun in an embrace with Honor Blackman.

A Wizard of Oz poster for the film’s 1949 re-release is valued at £9,000, while posters for Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961) and Lawrence of Arabia (1962) could make £9,000 and £8,000 respectively.

Spink and Son are promote some of the finest films of the 1930s through to the 1970s and the stars of the Golden Age of cinema.

A Spink spokesperson said: “The auction will include one hundred lots of original film posters, lobby cards and photographic production stills.

“A popular collecting area for a number of years, people often first purchase a piece because they have an emotional link to it, whether it goes back to one of the first films they saw as a child or a first date film night out.

“This sometimes develops into a passion for collecting on a broader scale.

Horror and sci-fi are two of the largest areas for collecting.

“In the last five years there has been an increase in the value of key titles from the 1970s and 1980s.

“Original posters from the Star Wars trilogy, together with early Sean Connery and Roger Moore James Bond posters have really seen dramatic increases in value over the past ten years.”

The sale takes place on Wednesday October 25.
