Cheapest shops to buy Christmas chocolates this week including Quality Street and Celebrations

THE Christmas season is just around the corner and it’s never too early to get your chocolates in.

With many a tub dotted around the house to pick from, they’re a festive staple in most of our homes.

To save you the trouble we’ve rounded up the best deals on offer for the most popular boxes of chocs.

We used discount-hunting site HotUKDeals and found a big saving on the 600g tubs of chocs at Sainsbury’s.

We also used comparison site trolley.co.uk and compared the cost of other Christmas chocolates including Celebrations, Roses, Ferrero Rochers and Heroes.

The tool searches and compares the prices of 130,000 products across all the major shops.

It means it’s a great way to make sure you’re not missing out on a big saving.

But you’ll have to be quick because some of the offers are only available for a set period.

The biggest saving we found from the cheapest to the most expensive was a whopping £8.94.

It goes to show it always pays to compare prices so you know you’re getting the best deal.

As we get closer to Christmas, it’s important to be aware that there are always sales and special offers on big tubs.

It might be a could idea if you can, to hold out for a lower price keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks.

Below we compare the current prices of Christmas chocs across the big supermarkets.

Quality Street

The cheapest supermarket selling Quality Street is currently Sainsbury’s, charging £4 if you have a handy Nectar card.

It’s free to sign up, but if you don’t have one, you’ll be charged £5.50.

The next cheapest after Sainsbury’s and Aldi are Asda and Ocado at £4.50.

Meanwhile, Tesco, Morrisons, and B&M are all selling a 600g tub for £5.

The most expensive place to buy the chocs this week is currently Iceland, which is selling them for £5.50.

Ferrero Rocher

Ferrero Rochers are one of the posher choices for a chocolate Christmas treat.

It means they’re always bit more expensive than the average tub of festive chocolates.

The cheapest choice we found for a box of 24 was at Tesco for just £6.

This is reduced at the moment from a whopping £9.50, and you will need to have a Clubcard if you want them at the discounted price.

It’s free to sign up to the loyalty scheme and you can do so online.

At the other end of the scale, the most pricey box of the posh chocs was at OnBy.com for a huge £14.94.

It means that by picking up the the box at Tesco will save you £8.94 in total.

Celebrations

Celebrations are a lot of Brits’ go-to for a Christmas sweets, with a variety of popluar Nestle treats.

You can currently nab a 600g tub of Celebrations for £4 instead of £5.50 at Sainsbury’s too.

Of course you will need to make sure you’ve signed up to the Nectar loyalty scheme.

Although, this is only 50p less than the next cheapest at Asda which is selling the chocs for £4.50.

The next cheapest is at Morrisons and Tesco for a fiver,

Iceland and Ocado are selling the same size tubs for £5.50.

It means the saving between the most expensive and the cheapest is £1.50.

Heroes

Heroes offer the ideal combination of Cadbury chocolates for the festive season.

Of all the supermarkets listed on Trolley, the cheapest tub for Heroes is £4 at Sainsbury’s again.

That’s the price of a 550g tub, so slightly smaller than both Quality Street and Celebrations.

Again make sure to be armed with your handy Nectar card if you’re after a bargain box.

There’s a £1 price difference between the cheapest and the most expensive, we found the most pricey shop selling the same size tubs was at Tesco and Morrisons for £5.

Roses

Cadbury fans have another great festive option in Roses.

There isn’t a huge price difference between the priciest and the cheapest this week.

Nectar customers can get a tub for £4 at Sainsbury’s, or pay £5.50 without.

Asda and Ocado are selling the same 550g tub for £4.50 each.

While Tesco is selling the same size box of chocs for £5 – a 50p increase.
