Cheapest places to buy Christmas chocolates this week including Quality Street – and they cost just £3.50

THERE are now less than two months to go before Christmas and it may be prime time to pick up your favourite chocs.

A tub of Quality Street or Celebrations is a necessity for most households during the festive period.

But there are so many competing offers and price drops in the run up to the big day it can be easy to miss out on the best deal.

That’s why we’ve done the bargain hunting for you and rounded up the best deals of the week.

We used discount-hunting site HotUKDeals and found a pretty decent deal on the 600g tubs of chocs at Morrisons.

We also used comparison site trolley.co.uk and compared the cost of other Christmas chocolates including Celebrations, Roses, Ferrero Rochers and Heroes.

The website searches and compares the prices of 130,000 products across all the major shops.

It means it’s a great way to make sure you’re not missing out on a big saving.

But you’ll have to be quick because some of the offers are only available for a set period.

The biggest saving we found from the cheapest to the most expensive was a whopping £3.50.

It goes to show it always pays to compare prices so you know you’re getting the best deal.

As we get closer to Christmas, it’s important to be aware that there are always sales and special offers on big tubs.

Last year saw major retailers drop the price to as little as £3.49 in late November so it might be a good idea to hold your horses and see if any better offers hit shelves.

Below we compare the current prices of Christmas chocs across the big supermarkets.

Quality Street

The cheapest supermarket selling a 600g tub of Quality Street is currently Morrisons.

The supermarket chain is charging £3.50 a tub – but the trick is your have to buy two.

The two for £7 offer is starting on Wednesday, November 1 and is only available for those who have a Morrisons More card.

If you’re not signed up to the loyalty scheme, which you can do for free, you’ll be stuck paying the usual £5.

And you’ll need to be quick too because the deal is only available for one week until November 7.

The next cheapest offers this week are at Asda and Iceland which are both offering two for £8 – or £4.50 for one at Asda and £5 at Iceland.

If you do just fancy one though you can head over to Tesco which is selling a 600g tub for £4 if you have a Clubcard, otherwise it’s £5.

The most expensive place to buy the chocs this week is currently Sainsbury’s, which is selling them for £5.50.

Roses

Fans of Cadbury chocolate have a great option in Roses tubs.

The cheapest shop selling them this week is Morrisons again with its two for £7 deal.

You can sign up to the More loyalty card online for free if you’re looking to pick up a tub.

If you don’t sign up you’ll pay £5 at the till instead – but remember the deal doesn’t kick in until Wednesday.

Tesco is also selling the same size tub for £5 – unless you have a Clubcard and then it’s £4 a box.

The next cheapest offer for Roses is at Asda as its two for £8 offer is also valid on the treats or £4.50 for one.

Celebrations

Celebrations are a lot of Brits’ go-to for a Christmas sweets, with a variety of popluar Nestle treats.

The cheapest shop to buy the chocolate treats this week is, you guessed it, Morrisons again.

Loyalty scheme shoppers can nab two boxes of Celebrations for £7 from Wednesday, or pay £5 if you don’t have a More card.

We then have three-way tie for second cheapest at £4 a tub at Asda, Tesco and Iceland.

Although at Asda and Iceland you need to buy two get them at this price, and at Tesco you need to have a Clubcard.

The most pricey is at Ocado and Sainsbury’s for £5.50.

Ferrero Rocher

Ferrero Rochers are a fancy choice for a Christmas treat.

That’s why then tend to be much more expensive than the average tub of festive chocolates.

The cheapest choice we found for a box of 24 was at Tesco for just £6 – but you need to be signed up to the Clubcard scheme.

This is reduced currently at the moment from a whopping £9.50, so you might want to be quick grabbing these if you have one of the handy cards.

Asda is also selling a 24-pack for £6.50.

But, at the other end of the scale, the most pricey box of the posh chocs was at Ocado for £9.50.

It means that by picking up the the box at Tesco will save you £3.50.

Heroes

Heroes offer the ideal combination of Cadbury chocolates for the festive season.

Morrisons two for £7 offer is the cheapest for Heroes this week.

That’s the price of a 550g tub, so slightly smaller than both Quality Street and Celebrations.

Again make sure to be armed with your handy Morrisons More card if you’re after a bargain box.

Of all the supermarkets listed on Trolley, the next cheapest tub for Heroes is £4 at Asda again – but only if you buy two.

After that it’s Ocado for £4.50.

There’s a £1 price difference between the cheapest and the most expensive, we found the most pricey shop selling the same size tubs was at Tesco and Morrisons for £5 if you don’t have the respective loyalty cards.

Meanwhile, Terry’s Chocolate Orange is making a comeback and people are rushing to buy their latest new treat.

Plus, Aldi shoppers are going wild over an “amazing” dupe of axed Cadbury biscuits.
