SUMMER has begun and temperatures have risen, but you won’t want to spend a fortune just to stay cool.

It’s hard to know where to look for the best deal, but don’t worry – we’ve listed the cheapest fans on shelves this week to make it a breeze.

Remember our list is just a guide, and you should still shop around to make sure you don’t miss any other bargains.

You can use price comparison sites like Google Shopping or the Latest Deals app to search for similar products elsewhere.

It’s worth checking in with independent stores and local branches rather than just looking online too – there might be more stock on display in person.

You can find your nearest supermarket or retailer using store locators – these are tools you can find on each company’s website.

But we recommend calling up first if you’re planning a visit. You don’t want to arrive and be disappointed with what’s there.

And keep in mind you shouldn’t buy anything just because it’s down in price.

If you don’t need it to begin with, you’re not saving any money.

When we searched we noticed B&Q, Wilko, Screwfix and Asda have some of the cheapest fans overall, so it’s worth taking a look if you’re after one.

Don’t forget to factor in added delivery costs if you’re ordering home.

We’ve rounded up the cheapest desk and tower fans from each retailer – here’s what we found.

Asda

Asda has both a desk and tower fan up for grabs this week

  • Nine Inch Desk Fan – £15
  • 32 inch Tower Fan – £28

These are both available in store and online – but you’ll need to pay an extra £2.95 to have them delivered.

However, they’re free to click and collect.

There are two speed settings on the desk fan whilst there are three on the tower fan – plus a 120-minute timer.

Either one is ideal for someone who will be working from home during the hot summer – just keep in mind how much space you have.

Tesco

We could only find a desk fan on Tesco's wesbite

  • Status 9In White Desk Fan – £15

If you’re looking for a large tower fan, Tesco probably isn’t your best bet.

Although we couldn’t find any tower fans online, there might be a few at your local branch.

But definitely call up first to be sure because you don’t want to waste a trip.

Remember there may be Clubcard offers in store too, and check your app to see whether you could use any vouchers for a discount.

The desk fan we found has two speed settings and an 80-degree oscillating function to make sure you’re really catching the breeze.

Sainsbury’s

  • Challenge Desk Fan 12′ – £25

Keep in mind this Sainsbury’s model is a bit bigger than Asda’s and Tesco’s, which both measure nine inches.

We couldn’t find a tower fan on the Sainsbury’s website either, but that’s not to say there won’t be any in stores.

The Challenge fan comes with the following features:

  • Three speed settings
  • Adjustable tilt
  • Oscillating
  • Suitable for freestanding

You’ll also need to build it yourself, but there should be an instruction manual included to help.

B&M

B&M isn't quite the cheapest for fans this week

  • Blaupunkt Desk Fan 9″ (White) – £18
  • Blaupunkt Tower Fan 32″ – £35

B&M is known for its bargain products – but it’s not quite the cheapest shop this time.

You can choose between two colours for the desk fan – grey and white – but the tower fan only comes in grey.

Each one is mains powered with an oscillating function and there are at least two speed settings on each.

There are also six-inch desk fans available for £12 if you’re after something smaller.

Wilko

Wilko's tower fan is one of the cheapest ones this week

Wilko’s tower fan is one of the cheapest ones this week
  • Beldray Desk Fan 9inch – £16
  • Status Tower Fan 32inch – £26

Wilko’s tower fan is one of the cheapest we’ve seen, so it’s definitely worth a look if that’s what you’re after.

However, standard delivery for these is £4.95, which might bump the price up if you’re ordering home.

Both have at least two speed settings so you can cool off to your heart’s desire, plus the desk fan has an adjustable head so you can sort it to just the right angle.

B&Q

B&Q is definitely worth the visit this summer for its affordable prices

  • Geepas 9inch Table Fan – £13.99
  • Daewoo 32″ Tower Fan – £28.49

B&Q has one of the cheapest desk fans we’ve seen, but be quick in case they get snatched up.

You can choose between two speed settings on the desk fan whilst the tower fan has three, along with a timer setting.

Again, these are ideal if you’re going to be sweating at home a lot this summer, but don’t forget to browse elsewhere even so.

You can also bring the desk fan into the office for extra comfort at work.

Screwfix

Screwfix has some good options too

  • BLYSS AOBA 11″ DESK FAN – £14.99
  • TOWER FAN 860MM – £39.99

Although the tower fan is on the pricier side compared to some other options, the desk fan we found is larger than the others listed, but still the same price.

The desk fan has the following functionalities:

  • Three-Speed
  • Airflow Capacity: 2160m³/hr
  • One Year Guarantee

And here’s what’s featured on the tower fan:

  • Three-Speed
  • Cooling Only
  • 1 Year Guarantee
  • Two hour Timer
  • 70° Oscillation

Currys

  • STATUS 9″ Desk Fan (White) – £14.99
  • STAY COOL F1321WH 32″ Tower Fan – £32.99

Currys is selling its desk fan for a similar price to the other retailers we’ve listed, but you could pick up a cheaper tower fan from the likes of Wilko or B&Q.

However, sometimes it’s about the quality, so it’s still worth popping in to have a look.

Both models have an oscillating function and you can angle them however you like for the most satisfying result.

Dunelm

  • Igenix 9″ White Desk Fan – £18
  • 32 Inch Tower Fan – £30

Both of these models have an oscillating function and at least two speed settings – but there’s a two-hour timer on the tower fan.

That’s ideal if you just want to keep a room cool while you’re not in it.

Don’t forget about delivery costs – you’ll be set back £3.95 and they’re not available for click and collect.
