A NEW survey suggests 95 per cent of all our New Year resolutions are fitness-based.
Many of us make a start by trying to eat more healthily.
But swap pricey protein snacks for these budget bites.
RAISE THE BAR: Grab a popular Grenade Carb Killa bar in Caramel Chaos, £2.70, Tesco, for 21g of protein.
But the Tesco Active range has its own Vanilla Caramel Crunch protein bar, which is the same size and still packs 18.6g into the bar for £1.75.
For even better value, try PE Nutrition’s The Bar 20g protein bars, usually £1.80, now £1.50 at Holland & Barrett.
BULK UP: Add a protein shake to your lunch and stay full for longer.
The UFit drinks contain 25g of protein for £2 at Sainsbury’s, however at Boots you can include the drinks in your Meal Deal.
But look out for the Pro Mlk chocolate protein shake drinks at Aldi, which are 99p for 20g of protein.
BOUNCE BACK: Snack on a pack of peanut butter protein balls by The Protein Ball Co., reduced from £1.50 to £1 at Morrisons.

Alternatively, pick up the lookalike Alesto protein ball pack, 49p at Lidl.
YOG ON: Dip into a pot of Arla 20g protein yoghurt, £1.10 at Asda — choose between passion fruit and strawberry flavour.
Or check the shelf below, because the own-brand Asda version is available in mango or strawberry flavour and has 24g protein in each 95p pot.
PUD THE WORK IN: Shoppers have been raving about the Brooklea Chocolate 20g Protein Pudding, £1.19, and it has been flying off the shelves in Aldi.
It’s a dead ringer for Lindahls chocolate 14g protein pudding, usually £1.50, but now just £1 at Morrisons.
