CHOCOLATE fans could win up to £10,000 if they find one of the special Cadbury’s Creme Eggs that have been hidden in shops across the UK.

Christmas might have only just finished but retailers are already gearing up for Easter – and Cadbury’s Creme Eggs are back on sale.

The special egg is made of half white chocolate and half milk chocolate – and it’s full of the classic sugary filling.

Cadbury’s has hidden 146 of the limited edition chocolates across the country, and shoppers could win up to £10,000 if they find one.

You’ve got until Easter Sunday to find a winning egg, which falls on April 17 this year.

There’s a catch, though, as you can only claim your prize if the egg is completely un-eaten.

So next time you buy a Creme Egg, unwrap it carefully to see if you’re one of the lucky winners.

If you find a half-and-half chocolate, resist the urge to take a bite.

You should call the phone number that is printed on the ticket under the foil covering the chocolate.

Keep this ticket as you’ll need it to prove you’ve won.

On the phone, you’ll be asked a series of verification questions including the unique code on the ticket and where and when you bought it.

Lyndsey Homer, brand manager for Cadbury Creme Egg, said: “When we celebrated our Golden Goobilee last year, we were absolutely blown away by the response to our golden eggs and this year, we wanted to continue that buzz in true Creme Egg fashion.”

Last year, Cadbury’s gave away golden Creme Eggs and winners bagged £5,000 when they found one.

A lucky mum won £5,000 just before Christmas when she found a hidden golden ticket in an Aldi chocolate bar.

The supermarket hid 25 tokens across its UK stores, with a top prize of £10,000 for finding one.
