BRITS are losing their minds over an “incredibly easy” settings tweak which makes your WiFi faster straight away.

Tech expert Liron Segev compared the way your WiFi normally works to carrying your shopping in from the car one item at a time.

One simple tweak can make the way it runs more like bagging up the items and carrying them all in at once.

He said: “We make our computers as efficient as possible by telling them to pack loads of data into a big bag.

“We do that by increasing the size of the MTU – the maximum transmission unit.

“This is done in two steps. Find out the maximum data packet our computer can handle.

“We don’t want to overfill our data packet. If we do, just like the carrier bag data will drop out.

“Step two – tell the computer what MTU size to use.”

Liron started by carrying out a WiFi speed test – which showed that his internet was much slower than what he was paying for.

He then opened the Command Prompt tool, which you can find by searching your computer’s task bar.

The tech whizz wrote “ping google.com – f – l 1492″ in the tool to calculate his MTU size.

He then wrote “netsh interface ipv4 show subinterfaces” to see the size of the MTU packet.

Liron then expanded it by typing “netsh int ipv4 set subinterface “Ethernet” mtu=1500 store=persistent”.

The magic lines of code helped speed up Liron’s WiFi – and you can do the same, even if you have no idea what they mean.

An amazing hack can help your Android phone run five TIMES faster – and it takes just seconds.
