Those in Birmingham will be happy to hear their city has seen more cash windfalls than anywhere else in Britain.

There have been 6,800 jackpot payouts since the game began in 1994 and 205 have been from the Birmingham area.

Brummie winners include Dawn and Malcolm Bosworth, who bagged themselves an eye-watering £5.8million in 2015.

Another life-changing sum landed on Paul and Marie Kibler’s lap with a £2.2million prize the following year.

Mum-of-two Celeste Coles also raked in just over £3.6million after grabbing a last-minute ticket in July last year.

The retired teacher, who was born in Barbados, rushed to get a ticket just before the final draw via The National Lottery App.

She was in shock as she realised the “big win” had her name on it when five main numbers plus one Lucky Star matched hers.

Birmingham received the same title – Britain’s luckiest city – in 2019 when the National Lottery revealed the postcodes with the most winners as part of its 25th birthday celebrations.

This comes after an anonymous ticket-holder scooped a whopping £46 million in the May 5 Euromillions draw.

It follows an incredible year of luck for UK players in 2022, when a total of six Euromillions jackpots totalling over £820million in prize money were won.

The record for the biggest EuroMillions win remains the £195million, won by an anonymous Brit in 2022.

Britain’s previous EuroMillions record holders were Joe and Jess Thwaite.

The couple won a record-breaking £184million jackpot in May 2022 and the family shared hopes of a Hawaiian holiday and a new horse box for their children’s ponies.

Some of the biggest EuroMillions winners include Colin and Chris Weir who took home £161million, Adrian and Gillian Bayford who scooped £148.6million and Frances and Patrick Connolly who won £114.9million.
