BOOTS has added to its huge clearance sale by slashing the price of electronics such as shavers and hair straighteners.

It comes alongside its baby and beauty sales, which have up to 75% off some goods.

New items that have been reduced in price include Philips electric shavers and Marc Hill hair straighteners, which have both been knocked down by 50%.

You can see a list of the new reductions on the Boots website.

The high street chain told The Sun these are its most recent sale items added to its website, but it is running other discounts.

For example, it has slashed up to 75% off Mothercare baby clothes, such as sleep suits, bibs and rompers.

It isn’t clear when these discounts started, but The Sun recently reported on reductions on Mothercare goods back in February 2020.

How to compare prices to get the best deal

JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn’t mean it’s always a good deal.

There are plenty of comparison websites out there that’ll check prices for you – so don’t be left paying more than you have to.

Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.

Here are some that we recommend:

  • Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
  • Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.
  • Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one.
  • CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.

Boots has also cut the price of make-up from brands like Ted Baker, Soap and Glory and CYO.

These reductions are split up into two sections on its website.

It has a page for sale items and another page for clearance items – both of which contain price reductions.

It appears the sale page is for where items have just been reduced, but aren’t being got rid of, and the clearance site is where Boots is trying to shift leftover seasonal stock.

There are 335 items in the sale, and 71 products listed on its clearance page.

Before you part ways with your cash, keep in mind that you’re only really making a saving if you were planning on purchasing that product anyway.

You should also still shop around to find the best prices.

If you’re ordering from Boots online, you can click and collect from your nearest store for a £1.50 fee, or it’s free if you spend more than £20.

Alternatively, Boots offers home delivery for £3.50, unless you spend more than £30, which means it’s free.
