Boohoo is to enter exclusive talks to buy Burton, Dorothy Perkins and Wallis for up to £25m
Boohoo has taken poll position to buy three Arcadia brands in a move that would mark the final break-up of Sir Philip Green’s empire, which collapsed in December.
Last night the online fashion retailer was preparing to enter exclusive talks to buy Burton, Dorothy Perkins and Wallis for up to £25million, Sky News reported.
Boohoo has used the pandemic as an opportunity to buy bombed out brands on the cheap.
Earlier this week it announced it had bought Debenhams’s website and brands for just £55million, and in 2020 it bought Oasis, Coast, Karen Millen and Warehouse, also marking each brand’s permanent departure from the High Street.
It is feared that the online-only focus of the suitors for Arcadia leaves little room for its 440 stores, manned by 13,000 staff.
Asos entered exclusive talks for Miss Selfridge and Topshop, the jewel in the crown of Sir Philip’s fallen empire, this week.
A source close to the race for the brands told the Mail it was not certain that a deal with Boohoo would be concluded and other parties are still interested in the brands.
