Blue Whale’s strong early years performance landed it a place in many investors portfolios, but as growth stocks suffered last year so did the fund.

Manager Stephen Yiu joins Simon Lambert on the Investing Show to discuss the Blue Whale Growth Fund’s performance and holdings.

He talks through why the rapid rise in interest rates hit the market so hard and hampered even high quality companies, such as the ones Blue Whale looks for, and how the investment outlook has altered.

Stephen also discusses with Simon and Richard Hunter why he no longer holds any of the FAANG shares but does back Microsoft and what made him pick an unusual name for a growth fund, energy stock Canadian Natural Resources.
