Billions of Chrome users warned to update AGAIN after four more ‘high’ risk bugs are found

GOOGLE has urged Chrome users to look out for yet another important just days after putting out an emergency alert.

This time around four of them have been given a “high” severity rating.

And at least one is known to exist “in the wild”, making it the second so-called “zero day” vulnerability unearthed this year so far.

In total, eight bugs were found in Chrome, the world’s most popular web browser.

Google doesn’t go into too much detail about what the issues are.

This is to give people enough time to update their software – and not give hackers crucial information to make use of the bugs before they’re patched.

Just last week the tech giant issued its first emergency update of the year to fix an apparent “hijacking” hack.

“Access to bug details and links may be kept restricted until a majority of users are updated with a fix,” the firm said.

“We will also retain restrictions if the bug exists in a third party library that other projects similarly depend on, but haven’t yet fixed.”

Google said an update will be made available “over the coming days/weeks”.

This should come to you automatically but you can push it through manually if you want to be extra careful.

How to update Google Chrome

It’s pretty easy to update Google Chrome from any device.

Follow the instructions below.

Update Google Chrome on PC

Start by opening Chrome and finding More in the top-right.

Next, go to Help, then About Google Chrome.

Select Update Google Chrome.

If you don’t see anything it means you’re using the latest version available.

Update Google Chrome on Android

On your Android device, open the Google Chrome browser.

Now look at the top and tap More (with three vertical dots).

Then choose Update Chrome.

Restart the Chrome app when you’re prompted to.

Alternatively, you can update Google Chrome through the official Google Play Store.

Update Google Chrome on iPhone & iPad

On your iPhone or iPad, open the App Store.

Then look at the top-right and tap on Profile.

Now scroll down to Available Updates and search for Chrome.

If you can see Chrome, tap Update to install. If this option isn’t available then you’re running the latest version.

You may need to enter your Apple ID password to complete the update.

Once you’ve done that, the update will download and install.
