A BIG supermarket is closing another store within days – with three more to shut this month.

Iceland has already started shutting the doors on half a dozen shops, with the next set to close on March 14.

The locations have different closing dates but it is not yet known if workers are at risk of redundancy.

Two stores have already shut in the last few weeks, including one in Bromsgrove and one in Basingstoke.

Next week will see the closure of the Iceland store in White Rose Centre, Rhyl on Tuesday (March 14).

  • South Street, Newport, Isle of Wight – March 25
  • St Catherine’s Place, Bedminster, Bristol – March 25
  • Deiniol Centre, Bangor – March 27

An Iceland spokesperson said: “We continually review our Iceland Foods and The Food Warehouse store portfolio to ensure we’re delivering the best experiences for our customers across the country.”

There are currently around 500 Iceland branches and 153 Food Warehouse stores in the UK.

Over the last few months major chains have announced closures, including Paperchase and B&M.

Food and pub chains have also been closing doors at several locations across the country – including Wetherspoons.

It comes following a tumultuous period for businesses struggling to bounce back after Covid and then to be hit with rising energy bills.

Today B&Q, Boots and Argos are closing branches.

One of the UK’s biggest card retailers Clintons has announced it will close two stores for good by the end of this month.

Halford has said it is closing its East Road Retail Park branch in Irvine after two already shut up shop.

The owner of Lloyds Pharmacy put all of its 1,300 branches at risk of closure.

The fashion brand New Look shut five stores earlier this yearfollowing H&M which shut four branches.

While, supermarket giant M&S is closing more stores later this year after half a dozen already did.

M&Co’s 170 shops will close forever this year, putting 1,910 jobs at risk.
