US president says he holds Iran responsible, but he is not looking for ‘wider war’ in Middle East
Joe Biden has said he has decided how to respond to a drone attack in Jordan that killed three American soldiers and wounded dozens more, but gave no details and stressed he did not want to spark a wider war.
Biden told reporters that he held Iran responsible for the drone strike on a US base on the Jordanian-Syrian border on Sunday, “in the sense that they’re supplying the weapons” to Kataib Hezbollah, the Iran-backed Iraqi militia whom Washington has accused of carrying out the attack.
