Beach huts that are on the ‘second row’ and so don’t have direct access to the beach tend to be cheaper.

We pick two such second row beach hut in different locations for our latest property battle series.

One is in the popular Friar’s Cliff in Dorset’s Christchurch, which is well-known for colourful beach huts.

Front row beach huts in this location can reach six figure sums. This second row beach hut is empty and has a price tag of £69,950.

The other beach hut is in Walton-on-the-Naze in Essex and is being sold fully equipped for £57,000.

Daniel Copley, of Zoopla, said: ‘With the pandemic pivoting how many of us approach holidays, end everyone loving the idea of a trip to the coast – complete with some fish and chips  – what if you could have your own place by the sea to watch the sunset, but without the financial implication that comes with buying a seaside home?

‘This is where a beach hut could be the perfect solution, providing you with your own private getaway to enjoy the coast, but for a fraction of the cost.’
