Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was initially set to release in 2022, but was delayed apparently due to disappointing feedback from fans.

Rocksteady’s previous games in the Batman universe were critically acclaimed, with two games rated 90+ on review aggregate site Metacritic.

However, Suicide Squad is a complete departure from Rocksteady’s other games and will be a live-service game.

This means that there will be free updates throughout the game’s lifespan, adding new playable characters and gameplay.

Rocksteady has now revealed the first additions for Season 1, including a fan-favourite Batman villain.

The Joker will join the Suicide Squad as a playable character from Season 1 in March.

Alongside making the Joker playable, a number of other Joker-themed additions will be added.

This includes a new Joker-themed playable environment, and two new episodes with missions, activities, and strongholds.

There will also be new boss fights and enemy variants, new DC-themed weapons and gear, and new Riddler content.

Plans have already been made for Seasons 2 through 4, including a new playable character for each season, and a new playable environment.

The plan is to make these seasons free for players who purchased the game in the hopes that they will keep playing.

This is because Suicide Squad is implementing a controversial Battle Pass system, which will ask players to pay out more with each season update.
