The Daewoo 12-litre dehumidifier is selling for £85 instead of £105 on the George by Asda websites.

These devices can suck up moisture lurking in the air around your home which can cause condensation on walls and windows as well as mould in certain areas.

The model, which has been praised with five-star reviews, can extract 12 litres of water a day.

Once full, the device will stop automatically to avoid overfilling.

Those who have bought it called it “amazing” and “quiet and efficient at a great price“.

One shopper said: “Very pleased with purchase! Bought due to having issues with damp and can say it’s massively helped!

“Collects lots of water and brilliant on the drying clothes setting too!”

Another branded it “brilliant” and a third noted its prowess for drying clothes in the winter months.

Don’t forget to factor in running costs too, which can range from 7p to 10p an hour, according to Ecoair, though the exact cost depends on the model and how often you use it.

The £85 price at Asda was the cheapest we found this specific model.

It’s also available from Wilko priced at the higher amount of £119, as well as Robert Dyas and Toolstation for £129

It’s always worth shopping around to find the best deal, and price comparison sites like Google Shopping, Price Spy and Idealo can help you do that.

Four simple ways to save money at Asda

Remember that it’s also only a good deal if you intended to buy it in the first place.

Seasonal reductions mean many shops are clearing older winter stock to make way for spring and summer items.

It means you’re likely to find more discounts on winter warmers that can be put away for next year, if you know you’ll use them.

For instance, Dunlem shoppers spotted an electric blanket for just £5.50, down from £22.

The same gadget at Tesco is now down from £30 to just £10.

Opening your windows regularly can help prevent mould build-up,

This is named the “stoffluften” trick which originates from Germany.

The term literally translates to “shock ventilation” and sees Germans often crack open windows to let stale air out and fresh, but cold, air in, even in the dead of winter.

Matan Korin, the vice president of sales at Ecoline Windows, previously told The Sun: “[Stoffluften] sees several windows being opened in a house for no more than three minutes.

“This will create a draft, swapping most of the warm humid air inside the house with cold air from outside.

“As the fresh air’s temperature rises, it takes up the extra humidity in the house.”

Some experts say that you should do it twice a day – in the morning and before you go to bed.

Others have recommended the best time to open up all the windows and use the method is after performing a task like showering or cooking where humidity levels are at their highest.

Another way to tackle mould is making sure your extractor fans are working.

These are the fans you find in kitchens and bathrooms, and they help remove excess steam from the air and therefore prevent a build-up of condensation.

How to tackle mould in your home

If you already have mould issues, there are ways to tackle it.

If left untreated, mould can pose a risk to vulnerable Brits with existing health problems like eczema or asthma.

Many experts say that bleach is all you need if you neither own nor want to buy specialised cleaning sprays and paints.

If using bleach, mix four parts of water with one part bleach.

You’ll also need a stiff brush, a bucket of water with cloth, and another cloth for drying.

Apply your solution to the affected areas (including a few inches around visible mould to kill any mould not yet visible).

Scrub it firmly with a strong brush.

Wait for as long as possible or until the mould completely disappears from sight and rinse the treated areas thoroughly.

Pat dry the area and allow it to completely dry before moving any furniture or placing items in front of the area.
