Many companies offer gifts to customers on their birthday, with some requiring you to sign up to newsletters in advance or to create an account online.

It can also help you save some cash too by not having to buy the grub and drinks yourself.

We’ve rounded up where you can get treats for free on your birthday – and how to get the deals.

Krispy Kreme – free doughnut

You can get a free doughnut from Krispy Kreme if it’s your special day.

You’ll need to download the Krispy Kreme Rewards app to get the treat – which is free via the App Store and Google Play.

There’s a few pieces of personal information you need to enter, such as your email address.

You’ll have to register your date of birth in the app, so when the big day comes around, the deal will land in your account.

Greggs – free sweet treat

Everyone loves a trip to Greggs, and you can get a free sweet snack on the house when it’s your birthday.

All you need to do is download the Greggs app via Google Play or the App Store, and make sure to fill out your date of birth as part of the registration process.

The offer will land in the deals section of the app when it’s your birthday – you’ll get a code that you’ll then have to show to your server at your local Greggs branch.

You’ll be able to claim any item from Greggs’ sweet range for free, such as a cookie or a doughnut – although multipacks aren’t included.

Hotel Chocolat – free chocolate

A birthday isn’t complete without chocolate, and at Hotel Chocolat, you can bag it for free on your special day.

You need to download Hotel Chocolat’s VIP ME club app in order to get the perk though.

It’s free to sign up, and you can download it via Google Play and the App Store.

Make sure to register your birth date in the app – then a voucher code for a free gift will land in your app on your big day.

Hotel Chocolat confirmed to The Sun that chocolate is included in the gift options you could get from the store.

Brewer’s Fayre and Beefeater – free meal

Looking for a slap up meal to mark the occasion? You’ll be able to dine for free at Brewers Fayre and Beefeater on your birthday.

However, you have to be part of the restaurants’ rewards club to be eligible for the grub – you can sign up for free here for Brewers Fayre and here for Beefeater.

Make sure you enter your date of birth while registering.

A few weeks before your birthday arrives, you’ll receive an email with a unique code in it which you need to show to your server when you arrive for your meal.

McDonald’s – free food or coffee

McDonald’s fans can make their birthday extra special by bagging themselves freebies and discounts if they sign up to the My McDonald’s app.

Birthday offers are in line with the McDonald’s Mondays offers, discounts and deals .

The chain said  to The Sun previously that you could get a free coffee too if it was your birthday.

TGI Friday’s – free cocktail

At TGI Friday’s, you and your pals can get a free cocktail when you choose to dine with the chain on your birthday.

If you download the Fridays Rewards app via Google Play or the App store, you’ll be able to get a free cocktail for you and up to five friends with every main meal bought on your special day.

The offer will show up in your app seven days before your birthday – and all of your guests must download the app in order to get the offer too when you’re out for dinner.

Boost – free juice

If you’re health conscious, you’ll be pleased to know that you can get a free juice on your birthday by signing up to a free Vibe card via the Boost Juice app.

Then take the card along with ID to a Boost store on the week of your birthday and you are entitled to a free Boost juice worth £4.

Just keep in mind that the offer cannot be redeemed on any other day regardless of external circumstances.
