ASDA has slashed the price of a winter gadget that can help avoid putting the heating on and shoppers say “it’s a blessing”.

Savvy shoppers spotted the throw online and were impressed with the price.

One posted it to the deal-finding website HotUKDeals, where it received a 359C heat rating – meaning dozens of bargain hunters agree it’s a good discount.

The poster wrote: “Cheapest I can find from a high street shop.

“Also available in store.”

The deal was met with over a dozen comments from fellow shoppers, plus it has glowing reviews online too.

One wrote: “We own one and trust me in this cold weather, it’s a must.

“We love it and it saves on the heating as well unless it’s really cold then you’ve no choice but to put it on but for watching TV on the couch, it’s a blessing.”

A second said: “We got one for Xmas – it’s a nice quality cover soft and fluffy.”

A third commented: “I got this as part of my mum’s Christmas and she says it’s fab.

“It’s great for the cold weather and with the adjustable temp and timer makes it even better, it’s so easy to work! It’s also washable too which is great!”

And a fourth wrote: “Cheaper than other heated throws on the market but no less effective.

“Lovely, soft, thick throw. Heats quickly and has a range of settings.

“Certainly reduces my need for whole-house heating. Good quality, easy to use, effective.”

While a fifth reviewer said: “Lovely and warm, good features with the controls. Great addition for winter.”

The throw is unfortunately out of stock online at the moment but is still available in stores.

It’s approximately 130cm by 160cm and comes with an LED Controller with up to 10 heat settings.

Made from 100% super soft polyester, it’s nice and cosy, plus it has a one to nine-hour timer.

It’s also machine washable once the controller and lead are removed.

Each has overheat protection and three-hour, auto-off function, and six adjustable heat settings.

It means you can use lower settings when using as a throw blanket, and higher settings for preheating your bed before settling in for the night.

The gadget costs just pennies an hour to run.

Recent figures from CheckaTrade shows that the average cost of running your heating per hour is 7p per kilowatt-hour.

This means that if you have a 24 kW boiler, it might cost you £1.68 an hour.

It means that if you have your heating on overnight for eight hours, it could cost you £13.44.

You can find your nearest Asda by using the store locator tool on the chain’s website.

As always make sure you to have a shop around first before you commit to a purchase.

We had a look around and found that Argos is selling a Silentnight Luxury Heated Throw for £45.

B&Q is selling a Purus Electric Throw Heated Blanket for £36.99.

You can also grab an Electric Heated Grey Sand Sherpa Fleece Throw Blanket at Debenhams for £39.99.

But make sure to compare yourself first as you might be able to find a similar product cheaper elsewhere.

Prices vary by brand, size and retailer so it’s worth having a browse elsewhere before you make a decision.
