ASDA has slashed the price of a winter gadget that costs just 1p to run and means you won’t have to blast the heating on.
The retailer, which is in the process of opening hundreds of stores, has reduced one of its electric blankets from £30 to £15.
The Silentnight Teddy Fleece blanket straps on to your bed and warms up once plugged in.
The nifty device costs from just 1p an hour to run too meaning you won’t have to turn the heating on.
One shopper recently spotted a single size of the blanket in their local Asda for the £15 price point, bagging them a 50% discount.
They posted their find on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, which has since notched up dozens of likes and comments.

It appears the blanket is only on sale at the one Asda store though as the retailer’s website has the same size blanket for £30, not £15.
Shoppers can pick it up in a double for £35 while the king size is £40.
Customers can click and collect for free or order via home delivery from £3.50.
It might be worth calling your local Asda to see if they’ve reduced prices on the blankets.

How else to save money on energy bills
Turning to an electric blanket instead of the heating is just one way of saving money on your energy bills, even as we come into spring.
You’ll want to start by turning your central heating system off on the right date – March 31, according to one expert.
This is the arrival of British Summer Time, although of course the date you should turn your radiators off is up to you.
You could do it earlier and save more money, or wait until April, if you are a household that needs the heating on for a particular reason such as housing someone with a disability.
If you’re with British Gas and on a smart meter, you might be able to join the energy firm’s “PeakSave” scheme too.
It offers you 50% off electricity on Sundays between 11am and 4pm until the end of the month.
Meanwhile, you might be able to get free home insulation or have other energy-saving measures installed in your property through the Energy Company Obligation.
The scheme is designed to help low-income households on certain benefits such as Universal Credit, Child Benefit and Housing Benefit.
The Government previously told The Sun households eligible for the scheme save around £600 to £700 on their bills each year after having energy-saving measures put in place.
You can find out more about the scheme on the Government’s website.
Or, you could apply for help via the Household Support Fund, which is now closing six months later than planned after the Government announced its extension in the Spring Budget.
