The supermarket is selling the own-brand black compact fryer on its website – and it’s been reduced from £28 so you’re getting £3 off.

Customers can pick up the appliance for free through click and collect. If you want to order it to your home there’s a £2.95 fee.

You might find one at your local store too, but there’s no guarantee, so it might be worth ordering online.

There’s also a minimum 30-day satisfaction guarantee on the product – so if you’re not happy you can return it for free.

The 1.5litre fryer comes with a non-stick food basket, dishwasher safe basket and weighs 2.9kg.

It also comes with a 30-minute timer so you can set it on and leave it to cook your breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The air fryer has proved so popular on Asda’s website, it’s notched up a 4.5 out of five-star rating overall and received over 1,400 five-star reviews.

It’s worth noting some shoppers have said due to its small size, the fryer might be better suited to single people.

One customer said: “This is the best air fryer that I know so far.

“I could give it 10 stars fast, easy to use, easy to clean.

“Every food comes out yummy so happy I purchased it. I highly recommend it.”

Another happy shopper said: “I just needed a cheap small air fryer and this was perfect. Ideal size for single portions and a great price.”

Meanwhile, a third person added: “Excellent value for money great price.”

Of course, you should always shop around when making any purchase such as this.

You can use Google Shopping which draws up products selling online, or you can go directly to retailers’ websites.

It can sometimes reveal the same, or similar, product for less money.

That said, when we looked around for a cheaper similar-style version of Asda’s £25 model, we couldn’t find anything.

The next cheapest is in Argos for £27. After that, Robert Dyas has one for £29.99.

Are air fryers cheaper than ovens?

Air fryers have surged in popularity since energy bills soared as they can be cheaper to use than a conventional oven.

On top of that, they can be a healthier option as they use less oil than an oven.

But they might not always be the cheapest option, and sometimes it may be easier to cook larger meals in an oven.

If you want to work out whether an air fryer is actually cheaper than your oven, you can use a simple formula:

Cost = power (in kWh) × time (in hours) × price of 1 kilowatt on your energy tariff.

So, if for example, you have an air fryer that consumes 2,000 watts, you are using it for one hour and the cost of electricity is priced at 34p per 1,000 watts, the formula would be:

2 x 1 x 34p = 68p

If you used it for two hours, the formula would be:

2 x 2 x 34p = 136p (£1.36)

You can use the same formula with any appliance, so you can do this with your oven and work out the difference in price.

In other retail news, Home Bargains has slashed the price of its Easter eggs – and they’re cheaper than Tesco.

Plus, Wetherspoon customers have been left fuming after the pub chain made a big change to its prices.
