The supermarket’s Gingerbread flavour hot chocolate has returned to the store’s shelves as the festive season closes in.

One sweet-toothed shopper uploaded a snap of the product to Facebook group Newfoodsuk, with punters scrambling to weigh in on the exciting discovery.

One user said: “I had this tonight!

“It’s so good with whipped cream.”

A second weighed in: “Ooh I need this for the winter.”

A post by reviewer Foodstuff Finds also applauded the “enjoyable” beverage.

They said: “Asda Gingerbread Flavour Hot Chocolate is a warming drink and very enjoyable.

“Definitely one to top with cream and marshmallows for the ultimate luxury.”

The spicy beverage is easy to prepare – simply add a couple of tablespoons of the powder and add hot water before stirring.

It comes after ASDA announced it would be selling a Christmas dinner for just £4 a head – but you might be wondering if it’s the cheapest option.

The cost of presents, parties and food can rack up over the festive period so you should be looking for ways to save money where possible.

Elsewhere, The Sun has revealed the cost of supermarket own-brand and branded Christmas baskets.

The search included seven supermarkets and seven own-brand Christmas dinner essentials – including turkey, mince pies and Yorkshire Puddings.
