Brits are in for another raft of bank holidays over the Christmas period after a bumper year of special days off.

This winter, bank holidays fall on Monday December 25 (Christmas Day), Tuesday December 26 (Boxing Day) and Monday January 1 (New Year’s Day).

Asda has over 630 stores and opening times can vary across the UK.

Bear in mind, not all shops will have the same opening and closing hours, so do check before heading out.

Is Asda open over the August bank holiday?

All of Asda‘s superstores and Express convenience stores will be closed on Christmas Day.

Stores will reopen on Boxing Day, but opening times will vary across the country.

Some stores – particularly convenience stores – may open from as early as 8am, while larger shops may open a little later, at 9am.

Express stores will stay open until between 6pm and 8pm on Boxing Day, while full-size Asda supermarkets will shut at around 6pm.

These hours are likely to be the same on New Year’s Day.

Remember most stores will also close earlier than usual on New Year’s Eve as they will be operating Sunday hours.

Larger Asda stores will shut at 4pm on New Year’s Eve, while Express stores will stay open slightly later – in some cases until 8pm.

Shoppers are advised to use the store locator tool on Asda’s website to check their local shop’s opening hours, as they may be slightly different.
