This winter, bank holidays fall on Monday December 25 (Christmas Day), Tuesday December 26 (Boxing Day) and Monday January 1 (New Year’s Day).

Asda has over 630 stores and opening times can vary across the UK.

Bear in mind, not all shops will have the same opening and closing hours, so do check before heading out.

Is Asda open over the bank holidays?

All of Asda‘s superstores and Express convenience stores close on Christmas Day.

Stores reopen on Boxing Day, but opening times vary across the country.

Some stores – particularly convenience stores – are open from as early as 8am, while larger shops may open a little later, at 9am.

Express stores stay open until between 6pm and 8pm on Boxing Day, while full-size Asda supermarkets shut at around 6pm.

These hours are likely to be the same on New Year’s Day.

Remember most stores will also close earlier than usual on New Year’s Eve as they operate Sunday hours.

Larger Asda stores shut at 4pm on New Year’s Eve, while Express stores stay open slightly later – in some cases until 8pm.

Shoppers are advised to use the store locator tool on Asda’s website to check their local shop’s opening hours, as they may be slightly different.

Most of the nation’s favourite attractionsshops and restaurants close on Christmas Day.

Some supermarkets, department stores and smaller retailers have their doors open on Boxing Day, but hours can change.

Some retailers do not open on Boxing Day to give staff a break.
