When you can head out to do your grocery shopping will depend on the individual opening hours of each supermarket.

Bear in mind that some individual stores may have different opening and closing hours, so do check before heading out.

Below we outline what each supermarket is doing over the bank holiday.

The weekend – Saturday, May 4 and Sunday May 5 – is a normal day, and so most store opening hours won’t change on these days.

Aldi

Aldi said its stores will be open during the early May bank holiday but opening times will vary.

The hours are as follows

  • Saturday May 4 – 8am – 10pm
  • Sunday May 5 – 10am – 4pm
  • Monday May 6 – 8am – 8pm

This is also the best place to check for petrol filling station opening times, as these can vary from the main store opening hours.
