Are newspapers published over the May Bank Holiday?
Yes, your daily national newspaper is published on every Bank Holiday – except Christmas Day.
This means that The Sun will be published throughout the May bank holidays.
Every other national newspaper’s daily news edition will be printed and released as usual on this day.
However, there are some publications, such as the Financial Times, that don’t publish on selected Bank Holidays.
They also don’t publish a paper on a Sunday.
Popular free sheet Metro is published Monday to Friday, however, it is not published on public holidays.

Are newspapers delivered over the May Bank Holiday?
If you receive a newspaper through your letter box, you should expect your delivery as normal.
However, it may still be best to check with your local shop that delivers your paper if the bank holiday will disrupt your delivery.
You can still buy them from your local shop on the bank holiday, but it may be best to check their opening times beforehand to avoid arriving at a closed shop.
Unlike the Easter bank holiday where regulations force stores over 280 square meters to close, May bank holidays have no such restrictions.
This means you will be able to go into any shop, large or small, to purchase your Monday newspaper.
