PEOPLE enthusiastic about gardening may want to visit a garden centre during the Easter Bank Holiday.

Here, we look at which garden centres are open over the holiday and how you can find out.

Are garden centres open on New Year’s Day?

This depends on which garden centre you go to. Many garden centres will be closed on Easter Sunday but remain open on every other day of the Bank Holiday weekend.

Below are a few examples of centres and their opening times.

Dobbies

Dobbies operates over 75 stores across the UK.

They will be open on Good Friday and Easter Saturday, but won’t be on Easter Sunday.

A spokesperson for Dobbies said: “Dobbies opening hours stay the same, the only difference is that all the stores in England, Wales and Northern Ireland are closed on Easter Sunday, except English Little Dobbies which will stay open.”

Squires

Squires have 16 locations across England, with locations in places such as Twickenham, Reigate and Crawley.

They will run as per usual with the exception of Easter Sunday, where they are closed for the day.

A spokesperson for Squires said: “Squire’s opening hours remain the same over the Easter weekend, with the exception of Easter Sunday when all our centres remain closed.”

Clifton

Clifton nurseries have locations in London and Surrey.

They are closed on Easter Sunday, but otherwise are open as normal.

Please note that Clifton Surrey opens at 9am and closes at 5pm from Monday to Saturday.

This differs from Clifton London which is open between 9am and 6pm from Monday to Thursday, and then from 9am to 7pm on Friday and Saturday.

Burford

Burford garden centre is based in Oxfordshire.

They will be closed on Easter Sunday, but will be open every other day across the Easter weekend.

A spokesperson for Burford said: “We are open as usual for the Easter long weekend, apart from closing for Easter Sunday.”

It’s important to check to see if the garden centre you intend on visiting is open on these days, otherwise you be disappointed.
