What are the Bank Holiday dates for 2022?

Traditionally, Brits enjoy eight bank holidays in a year across England and Wales, but by the end of this year, they will have had ten.

The first one was on January 3, 2022 to celebrate New Year’s Day which fell on a Saturday.

Then Brits enjoyed a long weekend as they celebrated Good Friday on April 15 and Easter Sunday on April 17, 2022.

Soon after, the Early May Bank Holiday came around on May 2, 2022.

Then we had a four-day nationwide party during the Platinum Jubilee to celebrate the Queen’s 70-year reign on the throne.

Then, Brits celebrated the Summer bank holiday on August 29, 2022.

Since the Queen passed away on September 8, 2022, a bank holiday was scheduled to take place on the day of her funeral.

This means that there will be a September bank holiday on Monday, September 19, 2022.

The remaining bank holidays for 2022 are:

  • December 27 – Christmas Day (Substitute Day)
