BANKS traditionally close their doors on bank holidays – and the Platinum Jubilee is no exception.

Here is what you need to know about the opening times for banks including Nationwide, Barclays and Lloyds during the Platinum Jubilee bank holiday weekend.

Are banks open on Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday?

We contacted banks such as Nationwide, Barclays and Lloyds to confirm their opening times.

This is what the banks had to say.

Nationwide

Nationwide told us that all branches will be closed on June 2 and June 3.

They recommend their members to use the Nationwide Branch Finder tool to get the latest information on their nearest branch.

Barclays

Barclays will not be opening any of their branches on Thursday, June 2, and Friday, June 3, to celebrate the Queen’s 70 years on the throne.

Normal services will resume from Saturday, June 4.

Despite their branches being closed, if you need any urgent help during this time, Barclays’ telephone banking services will remain open throughout the whole weekend.

Their number for their telephone service, is 03457 345 345.

Lloyds, Halifax, Royal Bank of Scotland

Lloyds Bank is the proud partner of the Platinum Jubilee Pageant.

Halifax and the Royal Bank of Scotland are part of the Lloyds Banking Group , so they updated us about the three banks.

They told us that all branches will be closed on June 2 and June 3 and then reopen with usual hours on June 4.

HSBC

HSBC said their branches don’t open on bank holidays, so you can expect all HSBC banks to be closed on June 2 and June 3.

However, their contact centres are open from 8am to 8pm every day over the bank holiday weekend and customers can contact them through the telephone number found on the back of their card.

The mobile app and online banking services are available 24/7, and so if HSBC’s LiveChat function.

HSBC said customers should use the Branch Locator tool on their website to find out what time their nearest branch is open on Saturday and Sunday of the bank holiday weekend.

Some branches might be closed.

Santander

All Santander branches will be closed on the June 2 and June 3.

They will then open during their normal hours from 9.30am till 4pm on Saturday June 4.

On Sunday June 5, they’ll be closed.

However, their contact centre will be open.

On June 2 and 3, the centre will be open from 8am till 5pm.

On June 4 and 5, the centre will open from 8am till 6pm.

Santander also said that of customers needs to report fraud and lost or stolen cards, they can contact the bank on 08009123123, as this number will be open 24/7 throughout the bank holiday weekend.

NatWest

NatWest confirmed that they too will be closed for the bank holiday weekend.

None of their branches will be open on June 2 and June 3.
