It will be open from 6am to 9pm every day, with shoppers able to grab favourites such as a sausage roll or steak bakes while they shop.

Greggs told The Sun it also plans to open further concessions within Sainsbury’s stores throughout the year, but it couldn’t confirm more details.

It comes as Greggs has rolled out to 28 Tesco stores across the UK so far.

Most recently, the chain cut the ribbon on two new Greggs cafes within Tesco stores, adding to the four already opened in the last year.

It came just a few months after Greggs announced it is moving into four more Primark shops.

Tony Rowson, property director at Greggs, said: “Our opening at Biggleswade will be our first with Sainsbury’s as we expand and diversify our retail estate as part of our ambitious property strategy.”

Rhian Bartlett, food commercial director at Sainsbury’s, added the move was part of an “ongoing plan” to bring more innovative food and drinks to Sainsbury’s customers.

In March, Greggs revealed plans to open 150 stores this year.

It said it also has plans to relocate 40 shops to new, larger sites and trial a 24-hour drive thru service.

As of today, May 25, Greggs fans can also get their hands on three new menu items.

These include a chicken shawarma flatbread, a vegan tandoori, or a Mexican chicken flatbread.

All of the flatbreads are priced from £3.25 depending on store location.
