OUR lives are full of subscriptions these days, but you don’t have to have Xbox Game Pass, Nintendo Switch Online, or PS Plus to grab free games.

A number of other subscription services now come with free games that you can enjoy alongside other services.

The classic example of this is Netflix, which has a library of almost 100 games that subscribers can play for free.

However, more and more streaming services are adding gaming to the mix, which is a huge win for fans.

One of these subscriptions is Crunchyroll, the most popular streaming service for fans of anime.

The Crunchyroll Game Vault offers subscribers a number of games they can play at no extra cost.

More in Gaming Releases

Two new exclusive games will be added to the game vault on January 31, 2024, for fans to enjoy.

The first free game is Ponpu, a cute 2D game based on the classic Bomberman series.

The blurb reads: “Inspired by the classic gameplay of Bomberman, Ponpu takes the concept in a new direction, adding new mechanics and features while packaging it in super-slick, hand-drawn graphics.

“Play through the epic single-player campaign where you’ll face off against some of the coolest boss fights you’ve ever seen, in a race to defeat the almighty Duck-God and to stop him from resetting the universe.”

The next game is Yuppie Psycho which has received a massive 81 rating on review aggregate site Metacritic.

This is a pixel art, indie, survival horror game that has positive ratings from both players and critics.

The blurb reads: “Join Brian Pasternack, a young man with no future in a dystopian 90s society, on his first day at one of the world’s largest companies, Sintracorp.

“Uncertain, unprepared, and massively unqualified, will Pasternack have what it takes to shine in Sintracorp’s hierarchy?

“It all depends on how he performs on his first assignment… and whether he survives it.”

Both games will arrive on Crunchyroll Game Vault next week, and are free for subscribers to play.
