AMAZON has released a brand new Alexa gadget that works with thousands of smart devices including Ring doorbells and Fire TV Sticks.

The company’s Echo Hub is a smart home control panel that allows users to dabble with their security cameras, alarm systems, lights, locks, plugs, blinds, and thermostats.

As is standard with Alexa-powered devices it works heavily with other Amazon products, especially Ring.

So owners can easily see who’s at their door and view other cameras around the home.

And if you have any other speakers you can connect the Echo Hub to play music, audiobooks and podcasts in any room around the home.

Users can take advantage of the full suite of Alexa controls already available too, which means you can ask the voice-powered assistant to do tasks like play a movie on your Fire TV Stick.

The Echo Hub is Amazon’s latest attempt at creating an Alexa device with a screen, this time in the form of an eight inch touch-enabled display.

It can be mounted onto a wall or placed on a counter with a stand accessory.

The smart home dashboard is customisable with various widgets for the different products you own.

Amazon says Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Sidewalk, Thread, and Matter devices sync seamlessly with the Echo Hub, allowing users to mix and match devices to meet your unique needs, regardless of the brand or manufacturer.

It’s also possible to create routines so groups of gadgets work together.

Amazon Fire Stick owners have discovered a useful trick to control their TVs

For example, you could set the security system to activate, as well as turning off heating and lights when you tell Alexa you’re leaving the house or tap the routine on the display.

And for those concerned about privacy, there’s a physical mic off button.

One YouTube reviewer described it as a “game changer”.

“This is what I’ve been waiting for!” one user responded.

Though others have compared it to the existing Echo Show display.

And the latest gizmo isn’t as cheap as other Amazon Echos either.

The device retails for £169.99 / $179.99.
