Some people use extenders or adapters to do this.
These gadgets do come with their own benefits but if they suffer a glitch, your Fire Stick will suffer too.
If you are using an extender and the Fire TV Stick connection fails, try removing it and using the straight-to-TV method.
Your TV instantly showing your Amazon Fire homepage again will indicate the problem was with the extender.
If you still see a blank screen, the problem could lie elsewhere.
