AMAZON Fire TV Stick users can make use of a PIN trick that can help stop family and friends from binge-watching without you.
It’s also a useful technique for parents who don’t want their kids going on certain apps.
All you have to do is access the parental controls and set up PIN passwords for apps.
Amazon Fire TV lets you PIN-protect certain apps and purchases.
Even the Prime Photos app can be locked so your pictures can stay private from guests using your TV.
The PIN trick means users need to enter a four-digit number before entering an app or viewing certain content.
To set this up, head to the Settings on your TV.
This section is usually represented by a gear icon.
Then click on Preferences and select Parental Controls.
You’ll need to enter a PIN to activate this.

Now you can select the content you want to protect.
Amazon explains: “Depending on the options you turn on, you have to enter your PIN before watching videos in restricted categories, purchasing content, or opening apps.”
For example, you can select content rated higher than PG to require a PIN.
Bear in mind that certain apps have their own parental controls.
Apps like Netflix require you to change their own parental control settings.
It should be easy to spot these apps as you won’t be able to change your preferences for them in the Amazon Fire TV settings.
