One reason for Amazon’s huge success with its lines of tablets, smart devices, doorbells, lights and other gadgets is that they are, in generally, hugely affordable.

Both the 3rd- and 4th-generation Echo Dots make regular appearances in Amazon’s Alexa device sales – honestly, never pay full price for one. Just wait patiently.
The mini-sized version of the standard Echo is a wonderfully affordable little piece of smart audio tech – and the latest version is now half the usual price.
Given the low price, you’re set up with surprisingly sharp audio, and of course you have Alexa at your service, who will pay music, answer questions, deliver the news and weather – and do plenty more as Amazon continues to upgrade her.
But if you’re after some stereo sound, you’re best off taking a look at the double offer on the 3rd-generation Dot – you can get two for just £18.99 each.

2. Ring Stick Up Cam Battery, £69.99 (save £20)

Ring’s line of video doorbells will set you with home security at no huge price – and it’s the free-standing Stick-Up Cam that’s on sale right now for 22% less than usual.
You can set this little video camera up both indoors and outdoors – it will relay a feed to your smartphone or device of choice including the Echo Show 5, which you can buy with this camera in a stunning bundle deal (£79.99, was £164.98).
3. Kindle, £49.99 (save £20)

For a tablet that’s primarily for reading e-books, it’s worth looking at Kindles as their screen are designed first and foremost for reading lines of words.
The standard 6-inch Kindle has been reduced by nearly 30% and now casts just £49.99.
But if you’re a committed reader, it might be worth investing more in the Kindle Paperwhite or Paperwhite Signature Edition – they come with more internal storage and higher-resolution displays.

Don’t think you need to spend hundreds on an iPad if you’re after a tablet that’s mostly for streaming, browsing or e-reading – a Fire tablet will do you just fine.

We weren’t entirely sold on Amazon’s range of screen-based Echos when they were first launched a couple of years ago – but they’ve proved a vital addition to many people’s kitchen counters.
You can use them to stream the likes of Prime, Netflix and YouTube, but of course they’re excellent for Alexa-commanded voice calls – and of course you can hook them up with your Ring Doorbell so you know who’s at the door.
