Matalan has brought back its loyalty scheme with a new name and updated offers.

Members also have the chance to get their shopping for free up to a value of £500 – with one customer selected each day.

You’ll automatically be entered into the draw every time you scan your card when you shop in store or online.

You can get a physical card in store or download the app, where you can find a barcode to scan at the shop.

If you link your card to your account. you will get the benefits when you’re shopping online.

Shoppers will get discounts and collect points at Matalan, which can be redeemed against other purchases.

The retailer hasn’t announced what the discounts will be or how shoppers can collect and spend loyalty points.

We’ve asked Matalan about those details and we will update this article when we hear back.

Members will find out about online sales early and you’ll be able to access the deals before anyone else.

Shoppers will also get an extra treat on their birthday.

The scheme replaces the old Matalan Card – and you can sign up online.

We’ve asked the retailer what will happen to points held in the old loyalty scheme.

Nicola Travis, head of customer relations, said: “It’s a fantastic milestone for Matalan, relaunching a popular scheme with so much history and customer engagement has been an important and exciting exercise and the result of a wide-reaching project within our team, with our internal colleagues and with the support of our external partners.”

Matalan was one of the first retailers to offer a loyalty program, launching its first scheme in 1985.

Many shops now have their own loyalty cards to encourage customers to return, such as Tesco’s Clubcard and Nectar points at Sainsbury’s.

Boots’ Advantage Card is another high street favourite.

The high street chemist announced a big change to the rules yesterday as members will be able to get lower prices online as well as in store.

But some shoppers have had their points wiped from the card.

Rival chain Superdrug also has a membership card, giving shoppers early sale access and discounts.
