But in spite of the lack of space for guests, the super-wealthy are likely to be queuing up to book a viewing with estate agents.

That’s because the house can be found inside a historic church – and comes complete with its own pulpit, now used as a bar.

The beautiful building has been transformed into an ultra-modern property that honours its ecclesiastical origins.

While the pews have been removed and homely touches added, gorgeous stained glass windows remain in place.

A stylish grey platform suspended beneath the eaves houses the master bedroom.

The structure has been fitted with glass instead of walls, meaning the owner can survey the space from the comfort of their bed.

HEAVENLY HOME

Outside, the occupant will find a sundeck set up for sunny days.

Most striking of all is a glass dome fitted between floors, so the wooden roof can be seen from ground level.

It’s currently owned by a London couple, who bought the church as a second home.

Joey Hansen of Hove agents Mishon Welton said the building is one of just two French Protestant churches still standing in England.

“This is one of the most unique properties in Brighton and Hove,” he said.

“Being in the heart of the town, buyers are literally only a few minutes’ walk away from everything the city has to offer.”

‘A MASTERPIECE’

In a property ad, the pad is described as “a masterpiece in history, architecture and interior design located within the heart of Brighton.”

It continues: “A reformed church which has been renovated to the highest of standards, bringing together the most wonderful mix of both contemporary interior design, while containing a wealth of its rich period charm and unique story.”

The plot of land was bought for £735 in the mid 1800s, and the church itself cost £800 to build.

It was officially dedicated in 1887 as the French Protestant Church of Brighton.

Designed in a red-brick Gothic style, it features three pairs of lancet windows, a pointed arch entrance door and a small copper spire on top of its square turret.

A time capsule was also set into the main stone foundation on the year of Queen Victoria’s golden jubilee.

Weekly Sunday services were held in the building until its closure in 2008, when it was sold to the current owners.

Other beautiful and unusual homes currently on the market include a £1million apartment inside London St Pancras.

The property has a 24-hour concierge service thanks to its proximity to the five-star St Pancras Renaissance Hotel.

There’s also a ballroom downstairs – meaning the owner will be able to host London’s most luxurious house party.

And a former pie and mash shop in London’s East End opens into an amazing three-bed property worth more than £1m.
