Energy bills are expected to hit just shy of £3,000 by the end of this year, while food bills are soaring due to rocketing inflation.

Drivers are being hit at the pump as well, with the average price of fuel at 188p per litre.

But a new campaign has been launched this week by the government, who is working with UK businesses to offer deals to ease the squeeze.

The Help for Households campaign features bespoke deals and discounts for households from some of the UK’s biggest business, including Asda, Morrisons, Amazon and Vodafone.

Asda

Asda will be extending its ‘Kids eat for £1’ scheme.

This is where children aged 16 and under can access a hot or cold meal for £1 at any time of day in Asda Cafes across the UK.

The deal is available seven days a week and there’s no minimum adult spend.

Morrisons

The deal doesn’t include Specials on the menu and the child must be aged under 16.

A kids meal comes with a piece of fruit and Tropicana kids orange juice, apple drink, or bottle of water.

The free meal must be from the cafe’s kids menu and cannot be used with any other offer.

Morrisons is rolling out the deal nationwide and you can find your nearest café by using the store locator tool.

All the menu suggestions can feed a family of four for less than £5.

You can check out the recipes here on Sainsbury’s website.

Amazon has launched a new ‘help for households’ webpage, which will provide information on free or discounted products.
