These features are typically trialled in the “beta” test version of WhatsApp first.

And the WhatsApp investigators at WABetaInfo have mined the app for some big changes coming up.

Some of these features are available right now with the latest WhatsApp app update.

Others are only available to try out on the beta app.

Sadly, it’s impossible to say when all of these features will make it to the live version of WhatsApp.

But if you want to try new WhatsApp features first, follow our guide below to join the beta.

How to join WhatsApp beta

To download WhatsApp beta for your smartphone you need to go to Google Play on your Android and search for WhatsApp.

Scroll down the page until you see “Become a Beta Tester”.

Tap the “I’m In” button and then click “Join” to confirm.

Now all you have to do is wait for the update to the beta version of the app.

Joining the WhatsApp beta on iPhone is more difficult, and has limited capacity.

Bonus trick

If you’re a WhatsApp fanatic, here’s a fun trick that you can try out.

Your WhatsApp has plenty of hidden secrets – and one can really boost your texting game.

It’s the Favourites feature that lets you star a message and save it for later.

Simply open WhatsApp and then go to a chat.

If you hold your finger down on a specific message, you’ll get the option to Star it.

Then go into your Settings and look for Starred Messages.
