Aldi worker shows why trick to slow down tills DOESN’T work

AN Aldi employee has shown why a trick to slow down the tills at the supermarket doesn’t work.

The hack appeared to show how to keep up with the speedy service at Aldi’s checkouts.

But a new clip shared on TikTok, by a user that reportedly works at the budget store, said the till trick doesn’t work.

Aldi till staff are known for their speedy checkout skills, which helps the retailer save time and keep costs down.

The original Facebook post showed shoppers how to slow down Aldi staff by spacing out their items on the conveyor belt.

The customer claimed that by spacing out their groceries, it gives them enough time to pack away their items at the other end of the till point.

“In your face Aldi! Just so we got time to pack,” the shopper captioned their photos.

However, the new TikTok post said the checkout hack isn’t real.

In the video, a shopper follows the advice to space out their items to slow the cashier down.

But the member of staff simply holds their hand out to the checkout, causing the shopping to pile up.

“Well that didn’t work,”the video said.

Not everyone was a fan of the original checkout hack and the post sparked a huge debate online.

While some people branded the method “genius”, others promptly called the shopper “selfish”, “childish” and “annoying”.

One shopper said: “If you are selfish enough to do that I hope they really throw them at you.”

Another said: “People like you packing their bag at the register is so annoying and selfish. Try packing at the bench like everyone else.”

“Stop trying to pack your bags at the checkout. Put your groceries back into your trolley after they’ve been scanned and pack them at the packing area like you’re supposed to,” another shopper said.

Aldi declined to comment.

Meanwhile, the supermarket chain has launched a summer sale, with discounts on its Specialbuys range.

Aldi’s popular baby sale has also return with prices as low as 69p.

It’s also selling a fire pit and log burner that is cheaper than what’s on offer at Argos and Wilko.
