ALDI will start selling a “game-changing” car seat gadget that keeps you warm for less than a tenner.

The budget supermarket will make driving to work in the cold early mornings more bearable after it revealed the new SpecialBuy.

The heated car seat covers will hit its shelves from Thursday, December 15.

Some cars have built-in heated seat warmers but you’ll have to pay a premium on the price of your car for the luxury.

But shoppers can now retrofit their cars with Aldi’s Auto XS Heated Seat Cover costing just £7.99.

Shoppers rushed to bag the bargain online when it first went on sale on Sunday but it soon sold out.

Luckily for those who missed out, the gadget will hit Aldi’s shelves in-store tomorrow.

In response to the news, shoppers took excitement online by posting on the Money Saver By Dansway Facebook page.

One shopper said: “This is exactly what I need,” and another said: “This solves not having heated seats anymore.”

Others comment that the heated seat cover would make a “great” Christmas present this year.

The seat cover is powered by the 12v cigarette lighter in your car but this means only one person – either the driver or the passenger – will be able to use the pad at any one time.

But the warming seat cover is just what many people need as Brits are braced for more bone-chilling weather this week with schools being forced to close and areas left without power.

The seat cover also features straps so that it can be positioned easily around your car’s seats.

It also has two adjustable heat settings so you can control how hot you want your seat.

Those looking to purchase the item can find their nearest Aldi using the store locator tool on its website.

But remember, the product is only available while stocks last, so you might find that your closest store doesn’t have the gadget in stock.

If you are thinking of buying the heated car seat cover, it’s also worth having a quick shop around first as you might be able to find a similar product cheaper elsewhere.

Other retailers stock similar heated seat covers, but the next cheapest one we could find was from B&Q for £17.99.

This means you’ll save £10 by buying the gadget from Aldi.

We also found a similar product for sale at Argos for £25 – a whole £17.01 more than the Aldi version.

Remember that if you opt to buy online you may need to fork out on delivery charges.

This isn’t the first time that the budget supermarket has sold heated seat covers.

Back in 2018, shoppers could get their hands on a similar gadget for £10.99.

The budget supermarket often stocks tech products as Specialbuys and the best days to make sure you get first dibs on the goods is to shop at the discounter on Thursdays and Sundays.

This is because the bargain supermarket drops a new batch of Specialbuys on these two days every week – once before the weekend kicks in and once to start the week.
