ALDI will create nearly 3,000 new jobs in the run up to Christmas, as part of a major festive recruitment drive.
The German discount supermarket is looking to fill over 2,000 temporary and permanent store positions.
While it’s looking to bring in more than 850 people to work across its 11 regional distribution centres.
Roles up for grabs include lorry drivers, warehouse selectors and logistics assistants.
Store assistants earn a minimum hourly rate of up to £10.50 nationally, and £11.95 inside the M25.
Aldi claims that it is the only supermarket that offers paid breaks, which for the average worker, is worth more than £830 a year.
It will be the biggest festive recruitment drive it has ever launched, Aldi said.
Aldi UK recruitment director Kelly Stokes said: “This year we’re recruiting more people than ever over the Christmas period to support the growing number of customers that are switching to Aldi.
“That includes a mix of temporary and permanent positions, as well as looking to fill both in-store roles and positions at our Regional Distribution Centres.
