ALDI is selling a GIANT inflatable waterslide for just under £300, and it’s perfect for a bit of slip and slide fun this summer.

But shoppers – or big kids itching to get their hands on the new garden toy – are all saying the same thing.

  • Aldi Inflatable Water Slide, £299.99 – buy now

The extravagant Specialbuy is a lot more expensive than last year.

You can add the inflatable novelty to your online shopping basket for £299.99.

And it’s not available in-store at Aldi either, so there’s another £9.95 to pay on top in delivery fees.

Only last year, the giant plaything was just £250 to buy.

That means, one summer on, shoppers have to part with another £50 to make a purchase.

“Expensive for what it is,” said one shopper marvelling the slide on Facebook.

Another said: “Overpriced.”

While a third said: “Wow that’s nearly £300.”

And a fourth said: “300 quid though? I was hoping it would be more like £150.”

It wouldn’t be the only product to see a steep increase in price since last year.

Aldi brought back its popular hang egg chair earlier this year, but shoppers noticed it was £40 more this time around.

But that didn’t stop them impressively clearing stock in under an hour – forcing Aldi to declare the product officially sold-out by just 9am the day it dropped.

And not everybody was so upset with the price of the new water slide either – some shoppers didn’t mind splashing out.

“Not going to lie, I’d love this,” one said.

“This would be great for the kids!” another agreed.

The inflatable water slide stands 3.35m high, it’s 4m long, and 2.3m wide when its all blown up.

It features a ladder so children can climb to the top, before whizzing down the slide into the attached paddling pool.

There’s even a water cannon to spray other players.

The set it made from polyester and laminated PVC, and is suitable for children aged between three and 10-years-old – so sorry parents, you just get to cough up the funds.

Thankfully, the kit comes with an air blower though, so you won’t have to puff up your lungs to get it going.

There’s also a repair kit to help you fix the inflatable if it accidentally comes into contact with anything sharp.

If you’re after a water slide for your own back garden you should have a shop around – Aldi’s Specialbuys are always popular, but you might find a better deal elsewhere.

Compare prices on sites like Google Shopping or Price Spy before you part with your money.

Online store BeBop is selling a similar looking water slide for £299.95 – it’s only 5p cheaper than Aldi’s but shipping is free, so you don’t have to fork out the extra tenner you do for Aldi’s, to get it to your door.

Meanwhile, Costway is selling its own giant inflatable wet plaything for £289 – making it £11 cheaper than Aldi’s.

And if you’re after more bargain water features for your back-yard, retailers are battling it out to stock the cheapest hot tub this year.

Asda, for example, only just slashed the price of its version – knocking £80 off shoppers’ bills.
