ALDI is selling a heated dressing gown for £35 and shoppers say it’s a “dream come true’ to help them keep warm this winter.

The cosy coat comes with an in-built heated pad and controller so you can set your preferred temperature.

The coat will be available in stores from Thursday

The launch could be perfect timing as temperatures are expected to plummet as far as -7C this week.

The Kirkton House heated coat has already sold out online but it will be available in Aldi stores from Thursday (January 27).

You can find your nearest branch using Aldi’s online store locator.

The dressing gown is made from soft flannel fleece with a 28cm by 55cm heating area.

It has nine temperature levels and in-built controls to stop it overheating – but you should always follow the safety advice.

For example, you should never get it wet unless you have completely removed the detachable lead cable and hand controller.

Make sure you detach all the electronic elements before you clean it – but after that it can be popped in the washing machine on a 30C wool wash cycle.

Shoppers were raving about the launch, taking to social media to say it’s a “dream come true”.

Another said:  “My prayers have been answered.”

You should compare prices before you head out to the shops to make sure you’re getting the best deal.

We couldn’t find any other heated dressing gowns that were cheaper than Aldi’s version – and there aren’t many on the market at all.

Amazon is selling a heated cape, but it’s more expensive at £46.

Aldi also has a bargain heated blanket in stock, which costs just £23, and is still available to buy online.

If you shop online, make sure to factor delivery costs into the overall price – which start at £2.95 at the discount supermarket.

I work in food production and this is why Aldi own-brand products always taste better than the more expensive versions
