ALDI shoppers have been left disappointed this morning as the store’s popular hanging egg chair has already sold-out.

The garden chair returned online today at 8am, but it didn’t take long for shoppers to flood the site as thousands queued ahead of the launch.

Aldi’s popular swinging egg-style chair made a comeback this weekend

The swinging egg-chair was in high demand last year, and today wouldn’t be the first time the chairs have been swept off the site in record time.

But not everybody was lucky enough to nab one in the past, so they came in their thousands to Aldi’s online website to try their hand again at snagging a chair.

The Specialbuy was only up for grabs via Aldi’s website

The cheapest version on offer was the Gardenline small hanging egg chair, setting successful shoppers back £189.99.

There was also a bigger version available to purchase for just under £200, and versions that came equipped with covers too.

Specialbuys are products launched by the low-cost supermarket every Thursday and Sunday to cover a range of activities and hobbies, like camping, fitness, or DIY.

But like many other products in the range, this one sold out very quickly – and typically once they’re gone, they could be gone for a while or even permanently.

With that in mind, shoppers entered a frenzy this morning as they tried to secure the product in their own baskets.

When we checked, you could still add one of the popular chairs to your basket at around 9am.

But shortly after, shoppers started to share their disappointment not having managed to purchase one of their own.

Not before they faced massive queues to add the chair to their basket though – one shopper found herself in 28,661st place.

On Twitter, shoppers shared their experience.

One said: “Hands up if you queued for Aldi’s egg chair this morning.”

While another said: “Everyone is after THAT chair again,” as they revealed they were well over 20,000th place in the queue.

We don’t yet know when the popular egg chair might return again, but we’ll update this story once we know more.

Variations of the chair made multiple appearances on Aldi’s website last year and back in 2020, giving customers more than one chance to cop the bargain for themselves.

In the past, as many as 75,000 people were in the queue for the popular chair, so it’s no wonder many missed out on the item.

That being said, some shoppers were thrilled to snag their own order today. And as much as it might come as a sting those those who were not successful, they shared their thoughts on Twitter.

One said: “Sunday morning couldn’t get any better, managed to secure Aldi’s egg chair.”

Another said: “Wooohoo, got one!”

Celebs such as Stacey Solomon and Mrs Hinch, both home-styling gurus, have egg-shape chairs themselves, making them all the more desirable.

This one is made out of rattan and lined with cushions, so customers can swing away comfortably all day.

The item can go both inside and outside, as the chair is weather resistant and comes with an optional cover for an extra cost.

If you did miss out on the egg chair launch this weekend, not to worry.

The Sun has discovered a couple of similar style chairs available without the wait.

The Range offers a hanging egg chair for £249, available to purchase now and free to deliver.

OnBuy is also selling a similar chair for £103.99.

But you should always shop around for better deals before making a purchase.
