Others have said staff are turning them away from their local branches with some also reporting issues with online orders.

Posting on X, formerly Twitter, one frustrated customer said: “Sooooo, for the first time in ages I’m gagging for a nice McMuffin… order online, drive to the McD’s and… you’ve got a country-wide failure?”

Another said: “All McDonald’s in Eastbourne closed due to technical issues.”

Meanwhile, a third fumed: “Why can I order through the app this morning but all of my local McDonald’s are closed when they are meant to be 24 hours?!”

And a fourth added: “Why cant you take orders with pen and paper and take it back to the kitchen? I’ve not had my McBreakfast today.”

McDonald’s restaurants in Australia are also reportedly experiencing widespread IT issues.

It comes after McDonald’s customers were left fuming after card payments went down across some UK branches in October.

But the issue was swiftly resolved and only affect tills at several restaurants across the UK.

That didn’t stop customers from fuming about the outage, with one posting on X: “A lot of time waste. Not loving it.”

Another wrote: “I get there’s an issue with card payments but their lack of response is the issue I’ve raised.

Other retailers were also reportedly having issues, with Visa card users struggling to make payments in stores.

In January 2020, disappointed Maccie’s fans slammed the fast food chain after its app crashed, affecting hundreds of customers.

Foodies went online to share their anger at the outage, with one saying it had “ruined” their Sunday morning.

Another user said: “So much for the free McMuffin when the app doesn’t work waited 30 mins in the restaurant to not have any time to wait for it anymore and order my food.”

It’s not just McDoanld’s to be hit with an outage in recent months either.

Tesco’s contactless card system went down for hundreds of customers last month, leaving them fuming.
