McDonald’s fans are not happy about saying goodbye to the Galaxy Caramel Pie

To make way for five returning favourites McDonald’s will be axing eight items on its menu and fans are not happy about saying goodbye to the Galaxy Caramel Pie.

The Galaxy Caramel Pie launched for the first time this Christmas as a fresh take on the classic apple pie.

It’s filled with Galaxy-flavoured caramel sauce encased in a crispy chocolate pastry and costs £1.99.

The treat was initially introduced to satisfy fans of the previously axed Chocolate Pie and Toffee Apple Pie.

Customers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their frustration at the news.

One user said: “I cannot put into words how much I’m going to miss the Galaxy Caramel Pie when McDonalds take them off the menu. C’mon lads, we can just keep them.”

Another said: “Just tried the Galaxy Caramel Pie for the first time and it was so yummy, wish it was on the menu permanently!!”

“Your new recipe Caramel Pie is very delicious! Killed,” claimed a third.

A fourth user protested: “Don’t get in between a girl and her caramel pie.”

McDonald’s Pie fans have experienced quite a bit of heartbreak this year.

The Chocolate Pie was first introduced just this year and quickly became a fan favourite.

It was made up of a chocolate crust and stuffed with chocolate sauce and is a choc twist on the iconic apple pie.

Fans were not pleased when the sweet treat was last axed in September.

The Toffee Pie however had fans divided, the sweet treat hit menus in October but many fans said they couldn’t taste the main flavour, toffee.

The Halloween edition was gone by November to make way for the Christmas menu.

However, not all hope is lost for the fans of the Galaxy Caramel pie.

Most of the time Maccies will switch out its menu every six weeks, although some special edition items might stay on for longer or less time.

Some of the change-ups will see popular items brought back, such as the Grand Big Mac, or some might be brand new like the Biscoff McFlurry.

Customers will need to say goodbye to the following items on January 3:

  • The Big & Cheesy £5.49 – (single) / £7.29 (meal)
  • The Big & Cheesy with Bacon £6.29 – (single) / £8.09 (meal)

How can I save on my McDonald’s order?

There are a few ways you can save on your next trip to McDonald’s.

Choose your branch wisely – menu prices can vary across different restaurants just a couple of miles apart.

Don’t forget birthday freebies – you can get freebies on your birthday if you’ve got the My McDonald’s app.

Remember to log your date of birth on the app though, otherwise, you’ll miss out.

You can get a Big Mac and fries for just £1.99 if you fill out the quick feedback survey following your last visit.

You will need your receipt as long as it hasn’t been more than 60 days since your trip.
